Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Horta FC booed when Caneiros FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 minutes of play, Caneiros FC's Paulo Moniz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulo Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute Rui Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Aguiar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Luís Matias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Horta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caneiros FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Horta FC's Luís Matias got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Moniz in the 22nd minute of play forced Horta FC's goalkeeper Jorge Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Paulo Moniz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Delfim Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the match, Caneiros FC's goalkeeper Afonso Cardoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristiano Morais. Rui Freitas struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jorge Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caneiros FC. 40 minutes into the game, Horta FC's Cristiano Morais nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso Cardoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Horta FC's Delfim Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Rui Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Horta FC's goalkeeper Jorge Aguiar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 78 played minutes, Horta FC's Fernando Leiria shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Afonso Cardoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Horta FC reached it. In the 84th match minute, Caneiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Catarino Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Afonso Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Morais, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. A collision led to Horta FC getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Simão Araújo hit a great ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Horta FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Caneiros FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
