Xavier Tavares might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Garcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xavier Tavares ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute Henrique Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Pereira hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. A collision led to Freixoeiro FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Henrique Paiva hit a great ball. Henrique Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Garcia having to interfere. Jorge Rocha succeeded in the game's 18th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Mariano Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Marco Guerreiro made a huge save. Marco Guerreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Rocha in the 27th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Freixoeiro FC's Fernando Guerreiro got a free kick in the 27th minute. Marco Guerreiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Rocha in the 28th minute of play. Xavier Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Freixoeiro FC's Henrique Paiva in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Marco Guerreiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Rocha's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.
58 minutes into the game, Jorge Rocha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Marco Guerreiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 63 minutes into the match, Mariano Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Guerreiro. Freixoeiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Jorge Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gens's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Guerreiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 71 played minutes Gens got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Pinheiro. With a little luck, Gens's Rafael Garcia got control of the ball when Xavier Tavares tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 79 minutes, Rafael Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Freixoeiro FC and the Gens players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Freixoeiro FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gens:s goal. Marco Guerreiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Henrique Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jorge Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Freixoeiro FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gens.
