The audience was convinced that Afonso Coimbra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristóvão Esteves was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. 17 minutes into the game, Sacados FC's Miguel Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After having played for 35 minutes, Carlos Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rebelhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Silva struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Oliveira Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rebelhos FC. Miguel Guerreiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Cristóvão Esteves made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Silva was the one to do the kick off. Marco Neto charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Neto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rebelhos FC's Marco Neto got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Rebelhos FC's Cristóvão Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Coimbra in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rebelhos FC's zone, Miguel Guerreiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristóvão Esteves came out of the goal and Miguel Guerreiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Miguel Guerreiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rebelhos FC's Cristóvão Esteves was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Afonso Marques kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Cristóvão Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Coimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes Sacados FC got a freekick which was hit by Simão Leite. The supporters of Rebelhos FC booed when Sacados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Álvaro Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliveira Alves having to interfere. Cristóvão Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee gave Sacados FC a penalty, 87 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by André Valente, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Rebelhos FC's Cristóvão Esteves. 2-0. Bernardo Cardoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 97th minute Carlos Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliveira Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Sacados FC could leave the field as winners, despite Rebelhos FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
