Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Lopes in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raul Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raul Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Domingos Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arruda's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arruda's Luís Sá got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raul Leão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 28 minutes, Luís Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arruda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diamantino Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Raul Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Arruda's Raul Barbosa got control of the ball when Diamantino Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Arruda's Fernando Assunção got a free kick in the 46th minute. Raul Barbosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diamantino Garcia in the 50th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

In the 54th minute Diamantino Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hélder Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Francisco Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Arruda players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented SC Guimarais from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
