Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Araújo to make the kick off. Pedro Leal scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Porto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 87th minute Veigas were awarded a corner. Joaquim Santos went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Veigas's Joaquim Santos to fire away a dangerous shot which Américo Assunção despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
