After 59 played minutes, SC Chairos's Augusto Almeida shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Catarino Pinto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Chairos reached it. 60 minutes into the game, Óscar Borba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Soalheira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Chairos the free kick. In the 60th match minute, SC Soalheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Óscar Borba to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute, Alexandre Cruz made a precise shot to the right of Catarino Pinto. SC Soalheira's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Aguiar during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Cruz couldn't finish the play. Afonso Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Catarino Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Soalheira's goalkeeper Catarino Pinto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joaquim Aguiar got his second yellow card in the match during the 92nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Chairos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
