After a defensive mix-up in SC Gouvaes's zone, Júlio Faro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Correia came out of the goal and Júlio Faro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Abreu got free with André Correia in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jaime Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, SC Gouvaes's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Faro came free, but André Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, António Borba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Gouvaes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Pampilhido the free kick. A collision led to SC Gouvaes getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. António Borba hit a great ball. If Jaime Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Júlio Faro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Pampilhido's Daniel Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Pinto in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Jaime Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Pampilhido's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. André Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If António Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Faro in the 44th minute of play forced SC Gouvaes's goalkeeper André Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Daniel Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from António Borba in the 92nd minute of the match. A collision led to SC Pampilhido getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Alfredo Guarda hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Gouvaes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Pampilhido.
