Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Joazim FC's Gustavo Gonçalves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. José Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Miranda in the 3rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fernando Miranda in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José Matos saved Joazim FC from getting behind. Vítor Borba charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vítor Borba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Gavinheira's Vítor Borba got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 16th minute, Joazim FC's Cândido Morais seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cândido Morais the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Joazim FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cândido Morais had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 15th minute, one of Joazim FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Joazim FC. The referee gave SC Gavinheira a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Afonso Fernandes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Joazim FC's José Matos. 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernando Miranda in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Matos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Lúcio Barros took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Trindade. Paulo Trindade dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Fernando Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Gavinheira's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The SC Gavinheira fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when SC Gavinheira's Fernando Miranda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Lúcio Barros came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Joazim FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Barros couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fernando Miranda made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match SC Gavinheira got a corner. Joazim FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Afonso Fernandes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Afonso Fernandes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Joazim FC's José Matos did a great save. In the 58thth minute of the game Fernando Miranda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Joazim FC's José Matos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vítor Borba got his second yellow card in the match during the 61st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to SC Gavinheira getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Vítor Borba hit a great ball. Lúcio Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lúcio Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Paulo Trindade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolfo Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Trindade having to interfere. Eduardo Machado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 76 minutes into the match. Sérgio Marques shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 80th match minute, SC Gavinheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Freitas to maneuver through the defense. In the 86th minute, Lúcio Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joazim FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Lúcio Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
