The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Amadeu Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Duarte Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Basílio Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Magalhães in the 11th minute of play forced Melides FC's goalkeeper Adolfo Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duarte Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Alveijar's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Carneiro came free, but Afonso Aleixo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Amadeu Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 36thth minute of the game Amadeu Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Melides FC's Adolfo Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Basílio Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Aleixo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaspar Borba, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Gaspar Borba struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Afonso Aleixo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Melides FC. Amadeu Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Adolfo Faria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Melides FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Vale to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. Afonso Aleixo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basílio Carneiro in the 75th minute. Gaspar Borba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Afonso Aleixo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Amadeu Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Alveijar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeu Magalhães couldn't finish the play. Afonso Aleixo was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Amadeu Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
