The goal made the score 1-0. 7 minutes into the game, one of SC Vicentes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Humberto Queirós, was totally fooled by SC Ameixoeira's Daniel Macedo, who 9 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Humberto Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Simões in the 13th minute of the match. SC Vicentes's Diamantino Pereira suffered a fractured collar bone after 14 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 15 minutes, José Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Ameixoeira and the SC Vicentes players grew even worse after the yellow card. 14 minutes into the game, one of SC Ameixoeira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for SC Vicentes. José Barros stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Figueiredo. 2-1. In the 23rd match minute, SC Vicentes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogo Castro to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Soares got free with Humberto Queirós in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Duarte Figueiredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Ramos in the 28th minute of play. André Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diogo Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diogo Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Ameixoeira booed when SC Vicentes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diogo Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, SC Ameixoeira's Daniel Macedo tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Duarte Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Castro in the 38th minute of the match. Joel Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Humberto Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Óscar Simões made a kick off. Joel Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Humberto Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Soares in the 56th minute of play forced SC Vicentes's goalkeeper Humberto Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. If Óscar Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The SC Ameixoeira fans' excitement grew in the 69th match minute when SC Ameixoeira's Óscar Simões looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Humberto Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Soares's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. SC Ameixoeira's Joel Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Soares in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Humberto Queirós saved SC Vicentes from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Daniel Macedo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SC Vicentes's Humberto Queirós didn't even have to move. Joel Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Humberto Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Simões in the 92nd minute of play forced SC Vicentes's goalkeeper Humberto Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacinto Pinto kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. SC Ameixoeira's Joel Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Vicentes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
