Basílio Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristiano Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Adelino Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Oliveira in the 21st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Torres during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Almalaguez FC got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Torres. A collision led to SC Cerro getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Jorge Torres hit a great ball. Basílio Dantas hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Oliveira made a kick off. If Alfredo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Ricardo Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Correia, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Oliveira in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Resende saved Almalaguez FC from getting behind. Adelino Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Branco's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. After a rather tough play, SC Cerro's Basílio Dantas got a free kick in the 59th minute. Manuel Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alfredo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Cerro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
