In the 23rd minute, David Aleixo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Paulo Melo, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Bespeira booed when SC Celavisa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st minute Rui Faro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Paulo Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Mendes's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Faro in the 57th minute of play forced SC Celavisa's goalkeeper Diamantino Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Celavisa's Tiago Leiria got a free kick in the 60th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, David Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Celavisa's supporters rose to their feet, but David Aleixo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Melo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
