In the 80th minute of the match, Paulo Ferreira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fábio Antunes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Adolfo Branco struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Joaquim Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santarem. If Lucas Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute Lucas Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristiano Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Antunes having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
