Manuel Faria's late challenge caught a Plisqueira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Faria helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Plisqueira booed when Santulhao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Plisqueira were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Santulhao FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sérgio Matos took the corner. Sérgio Matos made a great header on Plisqueira's corner, it was just that Santulhao FC's João Freitas managed to reach the ball for a save. 17 minutes in the game, Nuno Sousa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Sandro Matias having to interfere. In the 44th minute Rui Moutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute of the match Plisqueira got a corner. Santulhao FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sérgio Matos ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Plisqueira's Fernando Fernandes to fire away a dangerous shot which João Freitas despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Augusto Amaral during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 98 minutes of play Plisqueira's António Santarém was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Santulhao FC booed when Plisqueira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
