The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Luís Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Cabral having to interfere. José Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Barbosa in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Luís Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Penteado's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Pereira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Socorro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Penteado the free kick. A collision led to SC Socorro getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Hugo Moreira hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when André Assis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raul Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Adelino Gueifão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from André Assis went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. José Cabral was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Miguel Vale showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 89 minute of play. Penteado's Adelino Gueifão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Assis in the 93rd minute of play. Penteado's Raul Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
