The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If José Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Leiria struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Armindo Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marrajos FC. Cândido Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carneiro in the 12th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Ficalho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Soares to maneuver through the defense. Adelino Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Garcia having to interfere. Francisco Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Armindo Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Ficalho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Soares to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Carneiro in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cândido Moniz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the Marrajos FC defense, Vasco Leão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cândido Moniz. The Marrajos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cândido Moniz should have stopped the shot. Armindo Garcia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Leiria went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. If Vasco Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Carneiro to make the kick off. Armindo Garcia was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Adelino Miranda capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adelino Miranda really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Marrajos FC's goalkeeper Cândido Moniz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adelino Miranda struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Armindo Garcia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marrajos FC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adelino Miranda in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armindo Garcia saved Ficalho FC from getting behind. Vasco Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Soares kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. After having played for 83 minutes, Francisco Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marrajos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Leiria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Leirias short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Armindo Garcia to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cândido Moniz came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Ficalho FC's Vasco Leão. But to his dismay, Vasco Leão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 98th minute, José Carneiro made a precise shot to the right of Cândido Moniz. Marrajos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
