Machada's Artur Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Cunha in the 8th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Diogo Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot. Machada's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Domingues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Santarém breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diogo Domingues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Moreira's Paulo Santarém played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diamantino Nascimento in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Machada booed when SC Moreira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viriato Dantas during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 32 played minutes SC Moreira got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Dantas. Diamantino Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 40 played minutes SC Moreira got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Vale. 41 minutes into the match, Machada's António Paredes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. António Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Artur Barros made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diamantino Nascimento was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Moreira's zone, Diogo Domingues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Santarém came out of the goal and Diogo Domingues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. António Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Artur Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, António Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Moreira's supporters rose to their feet, but António Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With a left leg Artur Barros saved Machada from getting behind. Artur Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Cunha in the 67th minute of the match. Diogo Domingues struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Paulo Santarém didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Machada. SC Moreira's Paulo Santarém proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save SC Moreira from getting a goal against them. SC Moreira's António Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Cunha struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Artur Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Moreira. After some careless play in the SC Moreira defense, Diogo Domingues kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Santarém. The SC Moreira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Santarém should have stopped the shot. With an all-out effort, Machada's Paulo Santarém threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Diamantino Nascimento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Machada's Artur Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Cunha in the 96th minute of play. The SC Moreira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Machada's performance. The match ended with a win for Machada.
