Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) When Jaime Ribeiro fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Murgeira's protests and gave Jaime Ribeiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Catraia booed when SC Murgeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Catraia's Rui Almeida got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 1-0 became the score in the 9th minute when Cristiano Coimbra elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rafael Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. José Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Coimbra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Costa struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Inácio Coimbra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Murgeira. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lourenço Alves in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Inácio Coimbra saved Catraia from getting behind. If Cristiano Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Cristiano Coimbra took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for José Luz to make any attempt to save it. Miguel Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the game, SC Murgeira's Miguel Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Inácio Coimbra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Miguel Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Inácio Coimbra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Cristiano Coimbra charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Coimbra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristiano Coimbra hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Catraia's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Alves came free, but Inácio Coimbra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute Jaime Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Coimbra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tiago Gonçalves during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Catraia's Tiago Gonçalves got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After recieving a nice pass, SC Murgeira's Manuel Ferro tried to score from far away in the 54th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 62 played minutes SC Murgeira got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Costa. Cristiano Coimbra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Coimbra in the 69th minute of play forced SC Murgeira's goalkeeper José Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cristiano Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catraia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Coimbra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute Rafael Pedroso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Luz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Catraia got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Pedroso. After some careless play in the SC Murgeira defense, Cristiano Coimbra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Luz. The SC Murgeira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Luz should have stopped the shot. Inácio Coimbra was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Manuel Ferro. SC Murgeira's Lourenço Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Catraia's Rui Almeida got his second yellow card of the match in the 94th minute. The referee ordered Rui Almeida off the ground. After 95 played minutes Catraia got a freekick which was hit by Rui Almeida. Thanks to some nice moves Miguel Costa could shoot a difficult shot in the 98th minute, which Inácio Coimbra however easily saved by the left post. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Murgeira players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Catraia.
