In the 23rd minute Cristóvão Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canhoes FC's Gustavo Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Barros in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Gemezes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Matos came free, but Alberto Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristóvão Matos in the 32nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Catarino Aleixo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Cruz was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Cristóvão Matos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Canhoes FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Delgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Canhoes FC defense, António Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gustavo Cruz. The Canhoes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gustavo Cruz should have stopped the shot. Alberto Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristóvão Matos in the 48th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Catarino Aleixo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Cristóvão Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When António Barros came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Gemezes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Barros couldn't finish the play. Alberto Cabral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Delgado in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Cristóvão Matos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Alberto Cabral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alberto Cabral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from António Delgado went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Delgado in the 83rd minute of play forced Gemezes FC's goalkeeper Alberto Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gemezes FC's Alberto Cabral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Delgado in the 85th minute of play. A collision led to Gemezes FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jorge Antunes hit a great ball. Canhoes FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
