After a rather tough play, Pocarica's Joaquim Paredes got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes in the game Nuno Santos after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Fernando Porto. A very good opportunity. Sabugal FC's Nuno Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Cabral in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fernando Porto saved Pocarica from getting behind. After 17 played minutes Pocarica got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Nunes. Fernando Porto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sérgio Coelho in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute, Tiago Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Pocarica booed when Sabugal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sérgio Coelho came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Sabugal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio Coelho couldn't finish the play. Bernardo Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bernardo Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardo Azevedo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Júlio Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Porto having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Pocarica's goal looked a bit too open when Júlio Cabral came free, but Fernando Porto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 33 played minutes Pocarica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Aleixo. In the 38th minute Tiago Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tiago Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Sabugal FC's Júlio Cabral sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernando Porto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiago Gaspar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Júlio Cabral came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Sabugal FC fans jumped to their feet.
