Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Marco Pereira took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 minutes, Ricardo Luz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salineiras FC and the Porteira players grew even worse after the yellow card. Through an outstanding action, after 5 minutes, Afonso Andrade successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Catarino Morais succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 5th playminute. Catarino Morais received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Afonso Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee gave Salineiras FC a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eduardo Soares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Porteira's Joaquim Soares. 1-1. In the 23rd minute of the match Armando Nascimento shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquim Soares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 26th minute Catarino Morais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marco Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marco Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Salineiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Pereira couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute Paulo Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salineiras FC's Afonso Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Catarino Morais in the 41st minute of play. 43 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Porteira's Catarino Morais fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Fernando Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Catarino Morais was the one to do the kick off. When Fernando Machado came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Porteira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Machado couldn't finish the play. Afonso Andrade stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Machado's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Delfim Pacheco during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Delfim Pacheco hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Emílio Cruz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Salineiras FC's Afonso Andrade didn't even have to move. If Fernando Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Catarino Morais in the 70th minute of play forced Salineiras FC's goalkeeper Afonso Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Pereira in the 73rd minute of play. Marco Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Soares having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, Porteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Abreu to maneuver through the defense. Catarino Morais scored 2-2 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Andrade, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Afonso Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
