In the 14thth minute of the game Gaspar Pinto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Rabal's Hugo Castro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Catarino Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Leite having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Pintado's zone, Catarino Leiria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel Leite came out of the goal and Catarino Leiria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Luís Marques's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Leite was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. David Reis struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Hugo Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Pintado. 38 minutes into the game, one of SC Rabal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Marques was the one to do the kick off.
