The supporters of Melo FC booed when Pousafoles FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Leite could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Paulo Barbosa made a huge save. When Paulo Leite came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Melo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Leite couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Moutinho in the 18th minute of play forced Pousafoles FC's goalkeeper Paulo Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bento Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Paulo Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Moutinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Barbosa having to make a save. When Afonso Setúbal came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Pousafoles FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Afonso Setúbal couldn't finish the play. Bento Paiva hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Moutinho in the 44th minute of play forced Pousafoles FC's goalkeeper Paulo Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Baptista during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. André Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Daniel Moutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bento Paiva to strike the kick off in the second half. Bento Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Moutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 58th minute, Júlio Amaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pousafoles FC's zone, Paulo Leite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Barbosa came out of the goal and Paulo Leite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sandro Ramos fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melo FC's protests and gave Sandro Ramos a yellow card for diving instead. André Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90th minute Bento Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afonso Setúbal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Gabriel Brito made a huge save. In the 94th match minute, Melo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Setúbal to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bento Paiva in the 95th minute of play forced Melo FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
