Eduardo Resende received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Alberto Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Galhardo FC's Hugo Ramos got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eduardo Dantas's late challenge caught a Galhardo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eduardo Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. Eduardo Dantas hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes, Galhardo FC's Vasco Barbosa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alberto Matias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galhardo FC reached it. After 12 played minutes Galhardo FC got a freekick which was hit by Inácio Santos. Diogo Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Paulo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Galhardo FC's Paulo Correia got control of the ball when Fernando Pacheco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th minute Alexandre Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes Galhardo FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Resende. Fernando Pacheco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Correia having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Pacheco in the 24th minute of play forced Galhardo FC's goalkeeper Paulo Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Mesas's Inácio Fontes got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Inácio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Correia made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Diogo Abreu sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute, Hugo Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Correia, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 37th minute Inácio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Matias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Pacheco in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Inácio Santos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Mesas's Alberto Matias. Alberto Matias was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Galhardo FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vasco Barbosa in the 49th minute. Galhardo FC's Vasco Barbosa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alberto Matias in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexandre Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Matias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, SC Mesas's Alberto Matias got control of the ball when Inácio Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, SC Mesas's goalkeeper Alberto Matias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Inácio Santos. After having played for 64 minutes, Diogo Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Mesas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alberto Matias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Diogo Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Paulo Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Abreu in the 73rd minute of play forced Galhardo FC's goalkeeper Paulo Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Galhardo FC's Paulo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Pacheco in the 75th minute of play. Alberto Matias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Antunes in the 78th minute of the match. Vasco Barbosa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Mesas's zone, Inácio Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alberto Matias came out of the goal and Inácio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Galhardo FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
