When Inácio Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombeiro's protests and gave Inácio Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. Rui Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rui Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Melo in the 52nd minute of the match. Vítor Alves received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bemposta's Vítor Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Castro in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Xavier Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pombeiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Santarém was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, João Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pombeiro's supporters rose to their feet, but João Castro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Veiga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pombeiro's goalkeeper Rui Branco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xavier Santarém in the 75th minute of play forced Bemposta's goalkeeper Vítor Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pombeiro had won after a very even match.
