Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Calvinos's Pedro Amaral started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alfredo Esteves's late challenge caught a Pombeiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The supporters of Calvinos booed when Pombeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Branco having to interfere. Paulo Fernandes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rui Branco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Pedro Amaral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Rui Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Amaral in the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pombeiro's Viriato Oliveira got a free kick in the 25th minute. João Castro's late challenge caught a Calvinos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. After a defensive mix-up in Pombeiro's zone, Paulo Fernandes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Branco came out of the goal and Paulo Fernandes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Branco having to interfere. A collision led to Pombeiro getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Viriato Oliveira hit a great ball. Xavier Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Brás having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Fernandes in the 46th minute of play forced Pombeiro's goalkeeper Rui Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Inácio Antunes fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombeiro's protests and gave Inácio Antunes a yellow card for diving instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Castro to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Xavier Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Brás saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Paulo Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xavier Santarém in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandre Brás saved Calvinos from getting behind. Pedro Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rui Branco having to make a save. When Xavier Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Pombeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Santarém couldn't finish the play. João Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 86 minutes, Lúcio Guerreiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pombeiro and the Calvinos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th minute, Lúcio Guerreiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Branco acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 87th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Manuel Teixeira. The audience was convinced that Xavier Santarém's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Brás was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. In the 94th minute, João Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. João Castro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandre Brás having to make a save. Pombeiro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
