In the 17th minute, Rafael Jesus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 18 minutes, Nuno Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Apelacao and the Bugios FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Catarino Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Gonçalo Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Bernardo Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardo Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Fernandes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristiano Fernandes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bernardo Pinheiro. That made the score 2-2 in the 37 minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Fernandes made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in SC Apelacao's zone, Rafael Jesus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredo Branco came out of the goal and Rafael Jesus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 53 minutes into the match, Heitor Cunha dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfredo Branco, 2-3. Manuel Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manuel Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Manuel Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Bugios FC's Rafael Jesus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Branco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Gonçalo Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Coelho's late challenge caught a Bugios FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Coelho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Bugios FC booed when SC Apelacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Afonso Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredo Branco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Gonçalo Barros. In the 74th minute, Cristiano Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Gonçalo Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Apelacao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonçalo Anjos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 minutes, Afonso Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bugios FC and the SC Apelacao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Afonso Marques hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Gonçalo Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Bernardo Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Fernandes struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Bernardo Pinheiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Apelacao. 88 minutes into the game, Catarino Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bugios FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Apelacao the free kick. In the 88th match minute, Bugios FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Catarino Torres to maneuver through the defense. Bernardo Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Anjos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
