The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, Mind FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cândido Reis to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute Álvaro Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Assunção kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 13th match minute, Murganhal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Matos to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Machado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Barros having to make a save. Jorge Gomes took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vítor Barros. Vítor Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gonçalo Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Viriato Gonçalves made a huge save. 26 minutes into the match, Mind FC's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Leão came free, but Viriato Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mind FC's Eusébio Assis got a free kick in the 31st minute. Miguel Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alberto Brás fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murganhal FC's protests and gave Alberto Brás a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mind FC booed when Murganhal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Brás didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vítor Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Álvaro Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miguel Machado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Viriato Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Assunção in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Jorge Gomes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Álvaro Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Gonçalves having to interfere. If Gonçalo Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Murganhal FC got a freekick which was hit by Raul Coelho. Vítor Barros was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Miguel Machado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Miguel Machado really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Jorge Gomes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Barros having to interfere. Murganhal FC's Vítor Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Murganhal FC from getting a goal against them. Murganhal FC's Vítor Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Machado in the 91st minute of play. When Álvaro Leão came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Murganhal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Leão couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Murganhal FC booed when Mind FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cândido Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Álvaro Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Gonçalves having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mind FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
