Manique's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of Manique booed when SC Ameais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Anjos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cristiano Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manique's Augusto Setúbal got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when SC Ameais's Albertino Pinto in the 27th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Lúcio Soares was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Manique through an amazing save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Guarda got free with Lúcio Soares in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Manique getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Simão Domingues hit a great ball. Lúcio Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Pinto in the 31st minute of the match. When Bruno Guarda came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the SC Ameais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Guarda couldn't finish the play. After 35 played minutes Manique got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Vieira. After 39 minutes Manique's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carlos Costa who took care of the corner kick. In the 44th minute, Jacinto Leite ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristiano Monteiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 48 minutes, Jacinto Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manique and the SC Ameais players grew even worse after the yellow card. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Albertino Pinto made the kick off in the second half. Jacinto Leite got his second yellow card in the match during the 58th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Manique's Jacinto Leite got a free kick in the 59th minute. Lúcio Soares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Pinto in the 63rd minute of the match. Daniel Anjos charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Anjos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Despite being the better team, Manique failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
