In the 9th minute of the match Valada FC got a corner. Muxos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sérgio Viegas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Valada FC's corner Sérgio Viegas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Manuel Tavares quite easily take care of the ball. Abel Pinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Barros in the 23rd minute of play. After 29 minutes, Cristóvão Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muxos FC and the Valada FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Muxos FC's Cristóvão Mendes got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 30th minute of the match Sérgio Viegas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manuel Tavares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Basílio Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Valente could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Abel Pinho made a huge save. Abel Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Barros in the 41st minute of the match. The supporters of Muxos FC booed when Valada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Valentes short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Abel Pinho to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Manuel Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Cabral in the 44th minute of play. When Valada FC's Raul Cabral in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Muxos FC's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alexandre Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Basílio Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Muxos FC's Manuel Tavares got control of the ball when Raul Cabral tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 67 minutes, Pedro Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Muxos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Valente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute, André Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Valada FC's zone, Pedro Valente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Pinho came out of the goal and Pedro Valente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Reis's late challenge caught a Valada FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristiano Reis helped the player get up and apologised. Abel Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Valente, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Alexandre Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Raul Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Muxos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
