Pedro Henriques hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Paulo Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Vaz having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Antes FC got a freekick which was hit by Bento Aleixo. Joaquim Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abel Macedo in the 11th minute of the match. If Paulo Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bento Cruz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Viriato Vaz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Freguezia booed when Antes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bento Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Bessa in the 22nd minute of play forced Antes FC's goalkeeper Viriato Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viriato Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bento Cruz in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Delgado in the 24th minute of play forced Freguezia's goalkeeper Joaquim Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Freguezia booed when Antes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastião Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Vaz having to interfere. After 35 minutes, Albertino Melo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Freguezia and the Antes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Abel Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Antes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Macedo couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Freguezia getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Albertino Melo hit a great ball. After 40 minutes, Viriato Delgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Antes FC and the Freguezia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 40 played minutes Antes FC got a freekick which was hit by Viriato Delgado. The audience was convinced that Abel Macedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Ramos was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Macedo to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Pedro Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Bessa in the 58th minute of play forced Antes FC's goalkeeper Viriato Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freguezia's Joaquim Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Macedo in the 66th minute of play. Bento Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paulo Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viriato Vaz having to interfere. Antes FC's Viriato Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bento Cruz in the 72nd minute of play. Viriato Delgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Joaquim Ramos made a huge save. Freguezia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pedro Henriques 78 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Antes FC's Abel Macedo got a free kick in the 81st minute. After having played for 83 minutes, Bento Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Freguezia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bento Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Antes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Bessa came free, but Viriato Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freguezia's Joaquim Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Freguezia from getting a goal against them. If Viriato Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute, Albertino Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Esteves was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal.
