Emílio Porto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 8thth minute tested the skills of Viriato Maia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Neves in the 11th minute of play forced Forninhos FC's goalkeeper José Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Humberto Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Miguel Guarda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Forninhos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Guarda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Neves in the 24th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Forninhos FC defense, Humberto Setúbal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Cruz. The Forninhos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Cruz should have stopped the shot. Humberto Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. The referee ignored Forninhos FC's protests and gave Jacinto Faria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute Humberto Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Resouro FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Humberto Setúbal was the one to do the kick off. Eduardo Pinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52 played minutes Resouro FC got a freekick which was hit by André Fontes. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Diogo Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resouro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Cruz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Resouro FC's goalkeeper Viriato Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Cristóvão Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viriato Maia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Resouro FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
