In the 3rd minute, Lourenço Pacheco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Pedroso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 8 minutes into the match, Bubau's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Antunes came free, but Emílio Pedroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Cacarilhe FC's Pedro Antunes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Emílio Pedroso. Emílio Pedroso yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Filipe Tavares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim Cabral having to make a save. Cristóvão Sousa hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Xavier Amaral struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Joaquim Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bubau. In the 24th match minute, Bubau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Tavares to maneuver through the defense. Emílio Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Ferreira in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filipe Tavares in the 30th minute of play forced Cacarilhe FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Cabral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emílio Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Antunes in the 31st minute of play. After 32 played minutes Bubau got a freekick which was hit by Sebastião Resende. The audience was convinced that Pedro Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emílio Pedroso was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. In the 37th minute, Filipe Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Cabral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Amaral in the 39th minute of the match. Xavier Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute Xavier Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Cabral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Cacarilhe FC's goal looked a bit too open when Xavier Amaral came free, but Joaquim Cabral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Xavier Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filipe Tavares scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquim Cabral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Cacarilhe FC's zone, Luís Amaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Cabral came out of the goal and Luís Amaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Pedro Antunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emílio Pedroso was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 74 minutes into the match, Bubau's Filipe Tavares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Cabral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emílio Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Antunes in the 76th minute of play. Joaquim Cabral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Tavares, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Xavier Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Filipe Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Lourenço Pacheco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cacarilhe FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After 95 minutes, Cristóvão Sousa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cacarilhe FC and the Bubau players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Bubau booed when Cacarilhe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bubau's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
