Simão Machado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Pedro Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Paulo Setúbal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Melo was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Machado in the 9th minute of play forced Paialvo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sardos FC's Paulo Setúbal got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorge Cunha got free with Fernando Leal in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 minutes, Sandro Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sardos FC and the Paialvo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sardos FC's Sandro Barros got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Machado in the 23rd minute of play forced Paialvo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Sardos FC got a freekick which was hit by Sandro Barros. After recieving a nice pass, Paialvo FC's Fernando Aleixo tried to score from far away in the 26th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Diogo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paialvo FC's goalkeeper Pedro Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diogo Maia to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Paialvo FC's Pedro Melo got control of the ball when Simão Machado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Setúbal, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Sardos FC's Simão Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernando Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the game, Diogo Maia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Fernando Leal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Diogo Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Paulo Setúbal hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sardos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Paialvo FC.
