Pedro Veiga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Heitor Ferro kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Diamantino Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 minutes, Diamantino Vieira made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Merelhe's Pedro Veiga tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 18th minute, Diamantino Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Sortelha FC's Xavier Amaral got control of the ball when José Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diamantino Vieira struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Pedro Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sortelha FC. If Diamantino Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Pedro Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diamantino Vieira in the 31st minute of play forced Merelhe's goalkeeper Pedro Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedro Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Moniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Merelhe's José Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xavier Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes of play, Merelhe's Joaquim Cruz made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xavier Amaral was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Campos's late challenge caught a Merelhe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Campos helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sortelha FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Merelhe a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Magalhães, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sortelha FC's Xavier Amaral. 2-2. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vicente Moniz made the kick off in the second half. José Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Xavier Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Sortelha FC got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Paredes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Fonseca in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xavier Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Cruz in the 64th minute of play forced Sortelha FC's goalkeeper Xavier Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Vicente Moniz came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Sortelha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Moniz couldn't finish the play. Pedro Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Paredes in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Sortelha FC's Diamantino Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Veiga narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If José Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Moniz struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Pedro Veiga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sortelha FC. Joaquim Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sortelha FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
