When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Amílcar Martins sped through Firvidas FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vicente Moniz. In the 12th minute Amílcar Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Moniz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Costa hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The Firvidas FC fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Firvidas FC's Rui Carneiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Rui Carneiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of José Matos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, SC Espeses's Augusto Rocha got a free kick in the 45th minute. Rui Carneiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but José Matos made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Castro to strike the kick off in the second half. The SC Espeses fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when SC Espeses's Amílcar Martins looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Vicente Moniz came out of the goal and Amílcar Martins tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 74 minutes into the game, Heitor Amaral was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Espeses's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Firvidas FC the free kick. Rui Carneiro hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. José Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Firvidas FC.
