Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Montais's Vítor Fonseca started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes Tamel FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Cabral. SC Montais's João Bessa got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Vítor Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Neves struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Hélder Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tamel FC. Hélder Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Amaral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Vítor Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Tamel FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Lopes. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor Fonseca in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Abreu saved Tamel FC from getting behind. Hélder Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Neves in the 23rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Neves during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes SC Montais got a freekick which was hit by David Neves. When SC Montais's Vítor Fonseca in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tamel FC's goalie prevented a goal. Hélder Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Neves in the 29th minute of play. Carlos Abreu was a little too slow when Vítor Fonseca got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 1-0. 50 minutes into the match, SC Montais's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Amaral came free, but Hélder Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedro Neves to make the kick off. Tamel FC's Carlos Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Bessa in the 54th minute of play. If Vítor Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Lopes hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Montais's Afonso Ramos tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 61st minute Pedro Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Lopes hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Eusébio Vieira's late challenge caught a SC Montais's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. If João Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vítor Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Montais's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
