Miguel Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Eusébio Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Sacoes's Eusébio Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Guarda in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Veiga in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eusébio Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ricardo Barros during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, SC Capelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Barros to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Mendes in the 23rd minute of the match. Jacinto Garcia's late challenge caught a SC Sacoes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 27 minutes of play, SC Sacoes's Júlio Campos made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Cardoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! 32 minutes into the match, António Guarda had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eusébio Ferreira. SC Sacoes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that António Guarda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Eusébio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Guarda in the 38th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when António Guarda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Miguel Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the SC Capelo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Veiga couldn't finish the play. António Guarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Ferreira having to interfere. Eusébio Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Veiga in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Júlio Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Sacoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júlio Campos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Sacoes's Eusébio Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save SC Sacoes from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the SC Capelo defense, Afonso Mendes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Cardoso. The SC Capelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Cardoso should have stopped the shot. Bruno Cardoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Bruno Cardoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Campos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Sacoes's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Campos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Cardoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Júlio Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Cardoso having to interfere. SC Sacoes's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
