Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Coimbra's Catarino Dantas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oliveira Setúbal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Soares's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Pedregal's Sérgio Dantas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Paredes in the 8th minute of play. Daniel Morais hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Catarino Dantas struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Sérgio Dantas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Coimbra. After having played for 19 minutes, Sandro Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pedregal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandro Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolfo Paredes in the 24th minute of play forced Pedregal's goalkeeper Sérgio Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jaime Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. SC Coimbra's Oliveira Setúbal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Soares in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SC Coimbra's Jaime Azevedo got a free kick in the 31st minute. Humberto Pinho hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Alexandre Baptista in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Oliveira Setúbal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of SC Coimbra booed when Pedregal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adolfo Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sandro Soares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Jacinto Coimbra fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Coimbra's protests and gave Jacinto Coimbra a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Coimbra getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jacinto Coimbra hit a great ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Sandro Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alexandre Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliveira Setúbal having to interfere. Adolfo Paredes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Sérgio Dantas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 62 minutes into the match, Catarino Dantas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pedregal's Sérgio Dantas. Sérgio Dantas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 68th minute, SC Coimbra's Catarino Dantas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Sérgio Dantas. Jaime Azevedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sérgio Dantas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Azevedo ran back to his position shaking his head. Oliveira Setúbal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandro Soares in the 93rd minute of play. SC Coimbra's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
