Emanuel Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Soares, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Basílio Assis charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Basílio Assis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Basílio Assis hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, SC Arcas's José Domingues sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Pinto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SC Arcas's Basílio Assis got a free kick in the 12th minute. Covais's Paulo Barros couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Arcas. Covais's David Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Domingues in the 25th minute of play. David Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Arcas's José Domingues got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Basílio Assis came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the SC Arcas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Assis couldn't finish the play. Paulo Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Paulo Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. David Pinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Covais's goal looked a bit too open when José Domingues came free, but David Pinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Soares was the one to do the kick off. Paulo Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Basílio Assis hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Paulo Barros, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Arcas's zone, Nuno Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Almeida came out of the goal and Nuno Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but David Pinto made a huge save. When Nuno Vale fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Covais's protests and gave Nuno Vale a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Covais getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Nuno Vale hit a great ball. A collision led to SC Arcas getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Gustavo Neto hit a great ball. Marco Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Emanuel Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, José Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Arcas's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th match minute, SC Arcas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Viegas to maneuver through the defense. If Nuno Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Miranda in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 84th minute Marco Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, SC Arcas's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Miranda came free, but Emanuel Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Arcas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! Nuno Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Covais had won after a very even match.
