The audience thought a goal was coming when Simão Aguiar got free with Filipe Amaral in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Macedinho's zone, Simão Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipe Amaral came out of the goal and Simão Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, SC Carapacho's Bento Oliveira got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 12th minute Manuel Lisboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filipe Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Simão Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 18 minutes into the match, Manuel Lisboa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Filipe Amaral, 1-0.
