The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes SC Alcorochel got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Pedroso. Joel Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Emanuel Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Alcorochel's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Bessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Queirós got free with Diamantino Miranda in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 38th play minute Basílio Queirós came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Diamantino Miranda. 1-0.

The wind increased when Gonçalo Leiria made the kick off in the second half. Emanuel Amaral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Armando Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Alcorochel's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Leite was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The SC Alcorochel fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when SC Alcorochel's Joel Bessa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Basílio Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Menjoelho's supporters rose to their feet, but Basílio Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Miranda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the SC Alcorochel defense, João Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino Miranda. The SC Alcorochel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino Miranda should have stopped the shot. After having played for 73 minutes, Joel Bessa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Alcorochel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Bessa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the SC Alcorochel defense, Gonçalo Leiria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diamantino Miranda. The SC Alcorochel fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diamantino Miranda should have stopped the shot. When Ricardo Pedroso came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the SC Alcorochel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Pedroso couldn't finish the play. In the 85th match minute, SC Alcorochel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Basílio Queirós took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diamantino Miranda. Diamantino Miranda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 92 minutes into the game, one of SC Alcorochel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave SC Menjoelho a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José Valente, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Alcorochel's Diamantino Miranda. 5-1. If Gonçalo Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
