The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bernardo Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Oliveira Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adelino Assunção took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Delfim Magalhães. Delfim Magalhães dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, SC Palvarinho's goalkeeper Manuel Resende had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oliveira Matias. In the 32nd minute Bernardo Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Henrique Valente in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Magalhães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delfim Magalhães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adelino Assunção went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Manuel Resende was a little too slow when Bernardo Miranda got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 1-2. The Reborica FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Palvarinho were winning 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Miranda was the one to do the kick off. Manuel Resende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Miranda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute Reborica FC were awarded a corner. José Garcia went to the cornerflag to take it. Oliveira Matias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Armindo Cunha's late challenge caught a Reborica FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armindo Cunha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Palvarinho's Armindo Cunha got a free kick in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Reborica FC's José Garcia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Amílcar Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Resende having to interfere. If Oliveira Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Bernardo Miranda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Resende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Reborica FC's José Garcia tried to score from far away in the 69th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Eduardo Macedo hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Miranda in the 75th minute of play forced SC Palvarinho's goalkeeper Manuel Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Assunção's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Delfim Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After 77 played minutes Reborica FC got a freekick which was hit by Amílcar Santarém. Joaquim Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joaquim Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Reborica FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Palvarinho:s goal. The goalkeeper, Delfim Magalhães, was totally fooled by SC Palvarinho's Paulo Martins, who 81 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Bernardo Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Manuel Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Reborica FC got a freekick which was hit by José Garcia. The tension between the SC Palvarinho and the Reborica FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 97th match minute, SC Palvarinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Macedo to maneuver through the defense.
