After a rather tough play, SC Melgaco's Cristóvão Oliveira got a free kick in the 8th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Alfaquiques FC's Mariano Branco broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 13 minutes into the match, SC Melgaco's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Baptista came free, but Delfim Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amadeu Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Andrade, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Basílio Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amadeu Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basílio Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Basílio Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Amadeu Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Cristóvão Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Hugo Baptista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alfaquiques FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience was convinced that Catarino Branco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delfim Leal was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Catarino Branco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Alfaquiques FC's Gabriel Setúbal suffered a sore thigh after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hélder Cruz during the 52nd minute. Delfim Leal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alfaquiques FC. The referee ignored SC Melgaco's protests and gave Cristóvão Oliveira a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Melgaco getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Cristóvão Oliveira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basílio Andrade in the 69th minute of play forced Alfaquiques FC's goalkeeper Amadeu Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Alfaquiques FC's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Andrade came free, but Amadeu Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacinto Simões charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacinto Simões the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jacinto Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Basílio Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amadeu Baptista. Alfaquiques FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Basílio Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 86th minute, Fernando Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Alfaquiques FC's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Andrade came free, but Amadeu Baptista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Alfaquiques FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
