Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 3rd minute, Joaquim Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adelino Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Teixeira having to interfere. The supporters of Jordana booed when Mourelos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cândido Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Ribeiro hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Mourelos's Diogo Viana got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute Diogo Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adelino Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Teixeira having to interfere. Joaquim Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Mourelos's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Garcia came free, but Joaquim Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rui Leal got free with José Alves in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute, Catarino Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristiano Martins was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jorge Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mourelos's Joaquim Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Garcia in the 46th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Adelino Garcia made a precise shot to the right of Joaquim Teixeira. Mourelos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adelino Garcia to make the kick off. Joaquim Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Rui Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Alves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rui Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. If Adelino Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 69th minute of the match, Adelino Garcia tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquim Teixeira saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jorge Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Teixeira having to interfere. Jorge Porto was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Rui Leal struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. José Alves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mourelos. Diogo Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jorge Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquim Teixeira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adelino Garcia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 82 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Jordana's zone, Rui Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Alves came out of the goal and Rui Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Jordana supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jordana would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
