Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Augusto Setúbal kicked off to start the match. Gonçalo Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Viegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. André Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Gonçalo Resende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Gonçalo Resende managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Salzedas FC's Diogo Campos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 23rd match minute, Salzedas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Bessa to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Setúbal in the 24th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Salzedas FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Valongo:s goal. The referee gave Valongo a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sérgio Mendes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Salzedas FC's Bruno Simões. 0-1. 32 minutes into the game, Diogo Campos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gonçalo Resende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Salzedas FC's Bruno Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Setúbal in the 35th minute of play. Nuno Leiria blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Simões having to make a save. Nuno Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Simões having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Valongo's Fábio Rocha got a free kick in the 44th minute. André Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Resende having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Viegas to make the kick off. Bruno Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Setúbal in the 54th minute of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Salzedas FC's goalkeeper Bruno Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sérgio Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes, Salzedas FC's Américo Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gonçalo Resende came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Salzedas FC reached it. In the 69th minute Augusto Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Bruno Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Setúbal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Diogo Campos in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gonçalo Resende saved Valongo from getting behind. Gonçalo Resende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Viegas in the 78th minute of the match. After 80 played minutes Valongo got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Alves. Pedro Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Simões having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Augusto Setúbal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bruno Simões. Augusto Setúbal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. When Salzedas FC's Diogo Campos in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valongo's goalie prevented a goal. Diogo Campos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Valongo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
