In the 6th minute Augusto Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Atouguio's Hugo Cunha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save SC Atouguio from getting a goal against them. Nuno Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Henriques in the 11th minute of play. David Carvalho's late challenge caught a SC Atouguio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. David Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Atouguio booed when Baioes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Artur Henriques had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Viegas. Baioes FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Artur Henriques was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 21 played minutes, SC Atouguio's Gonçalo Morais shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nuno Viegas came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Atouguio reached it. Hugo Cunha made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Lourenço Faria sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, SC Atouguio's António Monteiro got a free kick in the 40th minute. Augusto Trindade was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 41st minute. Baioes FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Mário Coelho fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Atouguio's protests and gave Mário Coelho a yellow card for diving instead. Mário Coelho hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Hélder Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugo Cunha had great luck who in the 49thth minute grab hold of the ball when Augusto Trindade from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post.

Nuno Viegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Baptista in the 60th minute of play. During the 61st minute of the match David Carvalho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave David Carvalho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. David Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Lourenço Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Simões in the 66th minute of play. Hugo Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lourenço Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artur Henriques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Viegas having to interfere.
