The crowd rose to their feet as Vítor Abreu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Carneiro. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. After 13 minutes, Rui Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Izeda FC and the Rebordoes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Rui Dias fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rebordoes FC's protests and gave Rui Dias a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute, Rui Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Mota took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Carneiro. João Carneiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Daniel Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Neves having to interfere. Eusébio Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Daniel Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emanuel Mota's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but João Carneiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eusébio Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Abreu in the 39th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vítor Abreu was the one to do the kick off. Carlos Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Izeda FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rebordoes FC the free kick. Izeda FC's Emanuel Mota got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Rebordoes FC booed when Izeda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rebordoes FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
