In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guardal FC's goalkeeper Eduardo Faro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. André Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Faro having to interfere. André Resende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Coimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Coimbra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eduardo Faro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hugo Sá in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, António Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. André Resende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Guerreiro in the 56th minute of play. André Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Faro having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Coimbra in the 84th minute of play forced SC Escudeiros's goalkeeper André Resende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Augusto Guerreiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Escudeiros's André Resende was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Guardal FC's Eduardo Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Guardal FC from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute of the match, António Machado tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eduardo Faro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Guardal FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Escudeiros had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
