Cristiano Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Magalhães having to interfere. Rui Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Pinheiro in the 4th minute of the match. Sérgio Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Rui Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Albertino Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rui Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Pinheiro in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of SC Vegia booed when Vilares was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duarte Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucas Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sérgio Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rui Freitas having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Pinheiro in the 28th minute of play forced Vilares's goalkeeper Rui Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Setúbal hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Bruno Amaral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 37th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rui Freitas. Vilares's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sérgio Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rui Freitas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Leite received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lucas Magalhães came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristiano Leite slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Dantas made a kick off. After a rather tough play, SC Vegia's Sérgio Silva got a free kick in the 51st minute. Rui Freitas made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Sérgio Silva sent off a good shot on target. Sérgio Silvas short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Rui Freitas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Sérgio Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute Luís Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Freitas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sérgio Silva struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rui Freitas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Vegia. If Sérgio Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Magalhães came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vilares's Cristiano Leite. But to his dismay, Cristiano Leite quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. With a little luck, Vilares's Rui Freitas got control of the ball when Sérgio Silva tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 79th minute, Cristiano Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lucas Magalhães didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Dantas went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 85 minutes into the match, SC Vegia's Luís Pinheiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rui Freitas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paulo Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Magalhães having to interfere. When José Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vilares's protests and gave José Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. Vilares's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
